Manual therapy

Manual therapy deals with the assessment and treatment of reversible functional disorders of the body's posture and movement system. It includes all assessment and therapeutic techniques on the extremities, joints and spine that are used to find and treat these disorders.
If, for example, there is an articular dysfunction (blockage) of a joint, mobilization can reduce the activity of the pain receptors and stretch the joint capsule in order to loosen existing adhesions. Soft tissue techniques have a relaxing effect on the muscles surrounding the joint. In addition, neural structures are improved in their ability to glide.

What is it good for?
Manual therapy uses both passive techniques and active exercises. On the one hand, blocked or restricted joints are mobilized by trained physiotherapists using gentle techniques, and on the other hand, unstable joints can be stabilized using individual exercises. The aim of the treatment concept: to restore the interaction between joints, muscles and nerves.
Manual therapy may only be carried out by physiotherapists who have received special training for this purpose.
• Soft tissue techniques
• Muscle stretches
• Fascia techniques
• Trigger point treatments
• Mobilization techniques
• Traction
• Translational gliding
• Manipulation techniques

You can have manual therapy prescribed by your doctor or you can book it as a personal service and pay for it yourself. You can find the prices on our website or ask us using the contact form.
